If you do real hiking (like, in the mountains on a trail or something), you’ll want to spend a little more.

If you have an REI nearby, stop and talk with them about boots. They’re not the cheapest place but they will give you good advice.

For high-quality boots at a discount, check

If you’re just wearing the boots as a fashion statement, never mind all that and buy anything that’s cheap you like.

In that price range, I’d look first at http://www.sierratradingpost.com. If you can find your size, the prices can’t be beat. There are also often 20% off coupons at http://www.fatwallet.com

Great website and store with reviews, lots of products, and you can get them on the phone! :)

Plus they have a bargain basement section called the close out cave or something.

If your doing any serious hiking you want to find something with sole shanks to prevent bruising in rugged terrain.

You might want to consider looking at ebay as well. I’ve bought some great gear from there for about 1/2 the retail cost. Just check sellers feedback and ask questions first!

    Have fun!
