By hiking (unfortunately). Take small hikes at first so you can wear your boots in without doing any (or much) damage to your feet. Take along moleskin, bandaids, and toss an old pair of boots in the trunk of your car so you can prevent any problems.

Not so sure about hiking boots, but I stretch out my cowboy boots by putting them on, getting them wet and walking around in them till they’re dry. The leather stretches better wet and as they boots dry, they form to my feet. They do make a product called boot stretch. You could try that too.

At he shoe store they actually hace a thing that they can spray on them and then they put something inside of them to stretch them. Take them back and ask if they can help, or take them back and get a larger pair. I definately wouldn’t hike in uncomfortable shoes, it will make an enjoyable time miserable.

You can buy some foot trees and some shoe stretch. Wet the shoes with the stretch solution and insert the shoe trees.

Another way is to have them on and get them wet and let them dry on your feet – that can also relax the leather.
